Job Description
The Internal Communications Coordinator reports to the Manager, Corporate Communications & Creative Services, and is a member of the Digital Strategy & Corporate Communications SBU team. The Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness SBU is a key stakeholder and major client the coordinator’s work supports. The coordinator manages internal channels to support effective change management plans driven by technological and business changes resulting from projects, programs and initiatives occurring in Edmonton Airports. This includes assisting with stakeholder outreach and engagement, development and implementation of targeted internal communication plans, guiding and supporting communication activities. The coordinator is accountable for creating communication content and materials and work is in alignment with the strategic initiatives and priorities such as employee success and organizational transformation, identified in the business plan to inform and engage internal audiences.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Advise and consult with internal and external stakeholders to determine communications requirements and provide subject matter expertise in support of developing communications plans and related activities.
- Coordinate communications activities and provide direct support to execute those activities on a timely basis, ensuring emerging issues receive priority as applicable. This includes Employee Information Sessions (EIS) as well as other employee communications events.
- Create and maintain employee / stakeholder communication channels, including social media updates, HUB content, videos, email alerts, etc. to ensure appropriate and timely key messages to stakeholders regarding projects.
- Write, edit and produce communications for internal audiences, including but not limited to presentations, scripts, briefing documents, intranet articles, and employee communications, messages and emails. Review and edit communications drafted by internal stakeholders and make recommendations to ensure messaging is consistent with internal strategy and tone.
- Support user adoption of new systems and tools by defining critical communications project/initiative measures and milestones, and track and report against measures, including leading the development, execution and review of employee readiness surveys.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in communications or related field
- Knowledge of communications practices
- Knowledge of employee change and transition principles and methodologies
- Ability to assess employee communications needs, and apply logical approach to identifying required communications initiatives that support process or technology adoption
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Project management skills related to planning and managing Communications Plans (schedule preparation, projects plans and status reports)
- Process management and problem solving
- Ability to produce positive results in new and uncertain environments

SALARY: $28.94 - $32.08 per hour
