RS and Associates is currently looking for positive, fit and energetic people to join our Vancouver team! As an Airport Baggage Handler, you will play an important role in ensuring that our airline customers are operating safely and effectively while in Vancouver. This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy physical work and working in a team environment.

Part-time positions available 5:00 am to 9:00 am Monday through Friday, permanent and summer positions.

Job Description:

·        Safely Marshall/Guide incoming and outgoing aircraft,

·        Sort, stack, prepare, load and unload baggage & cargo to/from conveying equipment

·        Operate and position all airside baggage and cargo loading equipment

·        Unload/Load passenger luggage and cargo up to 70lbs (32kgs) onto carts,

·        Deliver passenger luggage to claim area and unload onto conveyor belt,

·        Record, calculate and communicate pit loading counts and procedures to appropriate authorities

·        Perform basic equipment daily maintenance checks

·        Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager,

·        Service aircraft lavatories and water

·        Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

·        Must be at least 18 years of age

·        Be able to clearly and effectively speak, read and write in English

·        Able to work under tight time constraints

·        Comfortably and continuously lift and carry luggage and cargo weighing up to 70 lbs (32 Kg)

·        Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions

·        Able to work up between 12 to 40 hours per week & available for overtime

·        Able to adhere to company and airline safety policies while performing assigned duties

·        Able to bend, kneel, crawl, stoop, and climb repetitively

·        Able to work in confined spaces

·        Basic computer skills required

·        Demonstrate a safety mindset and a passion for providing outstanding customer service

Conditions of Employment:

·        Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Transport CDA Security Clearance and Airport Restricted Area Identification Card

·        Must be eligible to work in Canada

·        Must have a valid driver’s license free from restrictions or violations

·        Must be able to obtain an Airport Airside Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP) license

·        Be able to work rotating, flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime when required

·        Must have transportation to & from work and be able to report to work for all shifts as assigned.

·        Must be able to meet physical demands of the job.

·        Must be able to complete and maintain all initial and recurrent training

Starting wage is $16/per hour
