TITLE: FULL TIME PERMANENT FLIGHT FOLLOWER
REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER, BASE MANAGER, ASSISTANT BASE MANAGER
LOCATION: WHITEHORSE, YT.
STATUS: PERMANENT, Full-Time position. 7 days on, 7 days off, 10 hours/day. 0700-1700. Please note, schedule is subject to change based on operational requirements.
RATE RANGE: $43,680.00 - $56,264.00 Annually
START DATE: October 25, 2021.
PURPOSE OF POSITION/MISSION STATEMENT:
As part of the Alkan Air team, the Flight Follower will be expected to deal effectively in a fast-paced, time-critical environment, while ensuring a professional manner at all times. This role will mainly, but not exclusively consist of the organizing, coordinating and dispatching of our aircraft. This is in addition to a proper coordination of freight, customer interactions and quoting to customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Aviation knowledge/experience as an asset.
- Customer service oriented with a strong commitment to providing excellent service
- Is able to work well, stay focused and multitask in a fast-paced and noisy environment with staff/clients coming and going
- Strong communication, organizational and decision-making skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts to support our 24/7 operation
- Dresses appropriately and keeps a well-groomed appearance
- Arrives to work in a timely manner and is reliable and dependable
- Requests vacation/personal time off in a timely manner
- Adapts to changing conditions and shows a willingness to help others in various departments.
Job-Specific Duties:
- Strong computer literacy knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Products.
- Maintain effective communication between all Operations. departments/staff/Managers and other areas to minimize flight delays and daily flight schedule integrity.
- Answer phones and email providing clients with exception customer service.
- Ensure all affected departments are notified of medevac flights and pop up charters.
- File required documents for international charters.
- Prepare quotes for private charters.
- Follow up with clients on pending quotes.
- Coordinate passenger pick ups and drop offs.
- Take all incoming phone calls during office hours and after office hours.
- Call out air crew and meet them on site for all after hours medevacs.
- Lock up and secure office at the end of the business day.
- Obtain weather from client and distribute to pilots.
- Participate in and follow all procedures and policies that will enhance and maintain the Safety & Quality Management System and its efficiency.
- Initiate emergency response procedures as required by Alkan Air’s Emergency Response system.
- Address customer inquiries by phone, telephone, skype, email and in person.
- Maintains whiteboard and knows whereabouts of all aircrafts.
- Dispatch medevac flights and keeps medevac pilot schedule up to date and accurate.
- Updates and maintains freight tracker.
- Support accounting, as required, in the invoicing process and up and down times.
- Assemble booking forms, log sheets and communicate payment plan to accounting.
- Any other related duties as assigned by Management or your Supervisor.
