Pacific Coastal, Flight Attendants, YVR

 Pacific Coastal Airlines is seeking permanent full time Flight Attendants based in Vancouver. The ideal candidates will enjoy a dynamic and rewarding work environment. We are excited to welcome safety-oriented and customer service minded individuals to start their careers with our company.

Pacific Coastal Airlines operates scheduled commercial and charter flights out of three (3) Airports - YYC International Terminal, YVR International Terminal and the Richmond South Terminal. We are uniquely positioned in our partnership with WestJet Airlines under our Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) under the banner - WestJet Link.

This position is for WestJet Link Flight Attendants, Vancouver base operating out of the Vancouver International Terminal, with the endorsement and expectation to dual qualify as a Pacific Coastal Flight Attendant operating out of the South Terminal. Dual qualification training will be conducted at the discretion of the Manager Cabin Safety and is a condition of accepting this role.

Job Descriptions:

  • Attend preflight briefings on details of the flight
  • Ensure the safety, security and comfort of all passengers and guests at all times
  • Ensure all safety equipment is checked prior to departure and monitored during the flight
  • Greet passengers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Explain safety procedures, demonstrate the use of emergency equipment, direct passengers in event of emergency
  • Complete onboard announcements as required
  • Provide onboard service of snacks and beverages, and ensure that all necessary supplies are on board
  • Administer first aid to passengers or coordinate first aid efforts, when needed
  • Submit reports on the cabin condition, as well as on any medical situations or events that may have occurred during the flight
  • Honor and contribute to Pacific Coastal Safety culture and safety reporting
  • Operate safety and emergency equipment including but not limited to fire extinguishers, galley equipment, communication and lighting equipment, oxygen systems and aircraft doors as required
  • Follow and enforce standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with Pacific Coastal Airlines and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned Cabin Safety Leadership

Qualifications:

  • Previous Flight Attendant experience or training is preferred
  • Customer Service experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Valid Canadian Passport
  • Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identity Card
  • Excellent English language written and oral communication skills
  • Health and wellness maintained for the physical demands of the position
  • Must be comfortable working onboard single Flight Attendant aircraft and smaller cabin environments
  • Must be able to work independently without supervision in many different environments and settings
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must complete an intensive initial training ground training, practical evacuation and emergency drills as well as first aid and live firefighting with successful passing grades that meet the standard of the Initial Training Program minimums with no exceptions
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Capable of working long hours and working on feet for extended periods of time
  • Able to travel away from home, any time, any day and any hour with a schedule that may change with very little notice

Priority is given to applicants who have had previous Flight Attendant experience and/or training.
