Air Transportation Association of Canada Conference

Class 9 representatives at the BCIT booth
Because the annual Air Transportation Association (ATAC) Annual General Meeting and Tradeshow was held in Vancouver at the Westin Bayshore this year on November 6, 7 & 8, Flight Operations Class 8 and 9 were both able to attend as volunteers or delegates.

This meeting represents the largest gathering of the Canadian commercial aviation industry and includes exhibits and delegates from airlines, aircraft manufacturers, aviation maintenance and suppliers to the aviation industry.

With graduation on December 22, the students from AVFO Class 8 are nearing the end of their program, and AVFO Class 9 currently taking Aviation Public Relations, the AGM provided students a wonderful opportunity to meet  professionals from Air Cargo Carriers & Freight Airlines, Aircraft Dealers, Airport Authorities, Charters & Air Taxis, Commuter Airlines, Corporate Flight Departments, FBOs / Aviation Service Centers, Federal / State Government, Ground Handlers / Service Providers, International, National & Regional Airlines.  In addition students were encouraged to attend workshops and discussions on a wide variety of topics including SMS and Human Resources.
