The Calgary Airport Authority is currently recruiting seven (7) Airfield Equipment Operators. This is a term position (September 17, 2012 – April 26, 2013)
The Role
Experience our energy behind the scenes at one of Canada’s busiest airports. Reporting to the Supervisor, Airfield Services, the successful candidates will be trained to be part of a DYNAMIC team who will be responsible for the following duties:
- Operate unique equipment used to maintain airport surfaces
- Perform bird and wildlife control
- Inspect and evaluate runways, taxiways and apron surface conditions
- Repair fences, gates and airport signage
- Assist in construction and repair of roads, drainage systems, landscape projects and other projects as assigned
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs on airfield maintenance equipment
- Perform maintenance and repairs on airfield surfaces and facilities
- Adhere to established safe working procedures

1. Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
2. Work a rotating shift schedule and be on call
3. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) and a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
4. Ability to obtain a Firearms Acquisition Certificate
5. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a dynamic team
6. Ability to build and maintain positive and respectful working relationships
7. Demonstrated ability to take directions and implement instructions in a timely manner
8. Meet requirements of acting in a safety-sensitive position
