JOB SUMMARY
FedEx located in Regina is seeking a Manager Ground Operations. In this role, you will be required to supervise, coordinate and control pick-up and delivery operations within the service area of the station to achieve maximum service objectives. To supervise, coordinate and control warehouse and ramp operations to achieve maximum service objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Selects, trains, develops, motivates hourly employees.
•Assists in the administration of an annual operating budget.
•Performs an overall audit function on packages in-house and on the vehicles.
•Inspects facilities, vehicles, tools and equipment to ensure good company image and safe working environment.
•Provides proper security for FedEx and customer properties.
•Supervises and coordinates all Ground Operations relating to the operational interface between aircraft and the station.
•Coordinates operations of the station to provide maximum service.
•Monitors job performance of employees through courier check rides or other on-job audits.
•Ensures compliance with corporate operating procedures and with Government Regulations and Safety procedures.
•Coordinates work equalization for staff within the operation.
•Provides station personnel with information regarding benefits, wage and salary policies, personnel and operating policies/procedures, etc., and ensures their uniform application and administration.
•Ensures compliance regarding corporate Personnel Policies and Procedures. Also supports corporate goals and objectives, including the People First Philosophy, Employment Equity and Quality Process.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent (3 years experience of managing direct reports)
•Four (4) years business experience. Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
••Ability to lift 70 lbs. and to maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs. with appropriate equipment or assistance of another person. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills
•Excellent leadership skills required.
•Basic computer proficiency required in MS Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.
