Discovery Air Fire Services Inc. (DAFS) has an exciting opportunity for a passionate; results oriented, Business Development and Marketing Manager to expand our services into new markets, with a particular focus on expanding DAFS aerial imagery products.
This position would be responsible for analyzing different government and commercial client needs, developing solutions in conjunction with DAFS Management and then marketing these solutions to the client. This position requires a working knowledge of the environmental and aviation industry. The objective of the position is to expand DAFS market presence nationally and internationally under the direction of the President of DAFS.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an established network of government and private industry contacts within the environmental field;
- Research, identify and pursue new business opportunities within the environmental monitoring field. Design and implement business plans to capture these opportunities in conjunction with DAFS Management;
- Spearhead market strategy development, gather competitive intelligence and price-to-win inputs and act as the primary point of contact with customers for projects during the capture phase;
- Assist with the follow through and development of DAFS vision, strategy and tactics;
- Identify trade shows, seminars and other events that can be used to both gather market intelligence and promote DAFS.
The ideal candidate:
- Must have an established network of contacts in target markets;
- Must have working knowledge of Federal and Provincial government procurement processes and respond to: Requests for Information (RFIs), Request for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs);
- Must have excellent skills in marketing and business promotion along with good analytical and financial skills;
- Must have a good understanding of the aviation industry;
- Must be professional, self-motivated and detail oriented;
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment;
- Must demonstrate creative, forward-thinking solutions;
- Must be highly responsive to requests and frequent communication;
- Must have strong interpersonal skills;
- Should have a working knowledge of aerial imagery operations;
- Should have a strong technical understanding;
- The ideal candidate will have Post-Secondary Education or equivalent experience in a field related to the target market;
- Must be willing to travel;
- Must be competent in Microsoft programs.
