Flight Operations Specialist

We have an opening for a Flight Operations Specialist to help us maintain high quality software support for all flight planning products. Products include Navtech Flight Plan (NFP™), electronic charting (eCharts™, iCharts™), runway analysis (V1 Plus ™, ToDC™), and load planning.

Navtech offers a series of applications which provide optimized results and help our customers reduce fuel costs which directly impacts their bottom line.

As a Flight Operations Specialist, you possess a strong knowledge of aviation weather, NOTAMS, navigation charts, and customer support. At Navtech, Flight Operations Specialists provide software support, customer issue tracking, flight plan outsourced services, product training, and database maintenance for all flight planning products. The Flight Operations Specialist is expected to work collaboratively with their peers in all aspects of their activities and is expected to communicate via email or phone in a professional and ethical manner.


Responsibilities:
• Provide Level 1 support for all flight planning products. The list of supported products will expand over time.
• Support the Account Management and Sales teams with the input of data as required.
• Monitor and action as appropriate all inbound SITA, AFTN, ARINC, emails and fax requests and messages.
• Ensure all documentation and reports are prepared, maintained and forwarded to relevant parties as required.
• Processing/translating domestic, international and Flight Information Region NOTAMS, and managing the NOTAM database after normal working hours.
• Assisting with the updating and maintenance of internal databases.
• Provide runway analysis services for customers when requested.
• Provide outsourced flight plan services from time to time.

Must-Haves:
• Minimum 3 years of airline operational experience, primarily in flight dispatch
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Flexibility to work shift rotation
• Working knowledge of aviation charts and approach plates
• Strong time management skills.
• Able to decode and understand aviation weather and NOTAMS
• Strong computer skills, good typist, and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Nice-to-Haves:
• Successful completion of Transport Canada Dispatch and Meteorological exam
• Valid Radiotelephone Operator’s Restricted license
