JOB TITLE: Draftsperson
REPORTS TO: Project Manager
CLOSING DATE: January 3rd, 2014

Duties:

Provide high quality technical document supporting services to Winnipeg Airports Authority departments including Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), document storage/retrieval and maintenance of site and building drawing data bases. Prepare clear, concise and technically accurate construction, planning, operational, leasing and land development drawings, and graphics under close supervision of design professionals in accordance with standard drafting office procedures. Maintain and validate information in support of infrastructure, airport site, airport site buildings, new projects, space planning, real estate, land development, etc. Receive, catalogue and file hard and softcopy drawings/documentation, along with other duties as required.

Education & Experience:
  • Two (2) year accredited technical diploma in Municipal/CAD or Geomatics/CAD Technology program
  • Eligible for membership in CTTAM at Technologist Level
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a drafting/CAD operating environment
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in CAD using AutoCAD 2010 or later versions. Ability to perform with skill, precision and neatness
  • Familiarity with coordinate systems and coordinate transformations
  • Excellent technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs and Adobe Pro
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self motivated to work independently and within a team in a fast paced constantly changing environment
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to learn and look for continuous improvement in methods, software and processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Proven problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of total station and GPS survey data processing would be an asset
  • Geographic Information Systems, AutoCAD Civil, AutoTurn and AeroTurn experience would be an asset
WAA may consider an applicant with demonstrated abilities and experience in lieu of a requirement.
Condition of employment is the ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card.
