Analyst, Vancouver
InterVISTAS has one opening for an analyst to join our team in the Vancouver office. As a key member of the team supporting several consulting areas, you will undertake general and economic research, data development, report writing, and presentation development on a wide range of projects. Our work is typically, but not exclusively, focused in the transportation and tourism industries with emphasis on the aviation sector.

Motivated by a challenge, you are an analytical, innovative problem-solver with a strong interest in aviation, transportation and tourism. You are extremely adaptable, working well independently or in teams to meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities. With enthusiasm for the role, an inquisitive mind and focused attention to detail, you handle volume and deliver quality.



We are seeking applicants with an undergraduate or graduate degree in commerce, economics, statistics, mathematics or other related disciplines. We will also consider candidates with a university degree in other disciplines who have suitable training or experience in quantitative research. We are looking to staff this position immediately.
Specific duties will include:
 Building knowledge of alternative sources of data and developing databases for statistical and econometric analysis.
 Developing detailed knowledge of the aviation, transportation, tourism and other industries. Our research and analysis approach is not confined to numerical analysis, but rather includes developing deep understanding of the factors affecting our clients’ industries.
 Writing reports and components of reports explaining research methods and also drawing observations and insight from models and empirical analysis.
 Supporting the preparation of proposals for clients by researching relevant information and assisting in proposal writing.
 Developing marketing presentations and materials, and writing briefing notes for public audiences.

Qualifications
You have a strong set of skills in quantitative research and are able to both conduct thorough analysis and provide sound interpretations of results. You are a multi-tasker and you can work as part of a team. You can work under pressure and deliver accurate results on time and on budget. You are motivated by a challenge, committed to achieving goals, and you are an analytical and innovative problem-solver. Strong writing skills are your alter ego and you are capable of converting data, empirical results and models into compelling, well-crafted reports for our clients. You are attentive to detail, committed to producing accurate results, and have a strong work ethic. Specific qualifications include:
 An undergraduate or masters level university degree in economics, statistics, commerce, mathematics is preferred.
 Experience with, and understanding of, statistical software is required.
 Advanced competency with MS-Excel or similar spreadsheet applications is a must have requirement for this position. Our ideal candidate will also have some experience in visual basic or other programming environment.
 Strong writing skills are a must have requirement and cannot be waived. You are a clear, well-organized writer. Your writing ability covers both the ability to document technical research and to provide clear prose motivating and describing research results.
 You are familiar with and excited by current issues in the economy and particularly in the aviation, transportation and tourism industries.
