Vancouver Airport Authority has a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Divisional Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of maintenance and utilities expenditures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with the Director, Maintenance Services on the annual budgeting process for materials, supplies and services (MSS) and utilities expenditures
- Preparing initiative requests and conducting initial review of budget submissions
- Preparing monthly forecasts of annual MSS expenditures
- Reporting monthly to the Director, Maintenance Services and relevant managers on performance against budget
- Acting as the Oracle budgeting and encumbrance accounting functional expert, and working with IT, Finance and Supply Management teams to troubleshoot performance problems in Oracle
- Acting as a contact in the Maintenance Department to answer questions on financial performance, as well as, maintain financial information
- Acting as a financial resource for special projects and ad hoc requests
Key qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce with a specialization in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or accounting designation is an asset
- Demonstrated experience with Oracle Financials or another complex accounting computer system
- Proven ability to construct and analyze financial models in order to determine impacts of each option and make recommendations to Director, Maintenance Services and senior management
- Analytical and logical reasoning skills to assist in forecasting, identifying sources of variances, troubleshooting problems in the financial system, etc.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team, as well as independently with minimal guidance
