Job Description:
This position reports to the Chief Pilot and as directed by Operations Manager and/or in the field may also receive direction for the designated senior Pilot. He/she will be responsible IAW the COM, Section 2.2.9, 4.4.2, 4.5.1, 4.6.1 and any other relevant sections for the operation and safety of the aircraft he/she commands and for the safety of all persons on-board during flight time. For this purpose he/she will have final authority for the disposition of the aircraft during the time in which he/she is in command.
- Fly helicopters
- Test new aircraft to evaluate performance
- Is familiar with the COM and refers to it for each assignment for appropriate guidelines.
- Is familiar with the Air Crew Reference Manual and refers to it for each assignment for appropriate guidelines.
- Determines flight routes, speed, take-off and landing times to safely fulfill scheduling requirements.
- Must stay current with general and local flight requirements and situations.
- Responsible for the safe operation of the company aircraft IAW all policies and procedures, the COM and CARs.
- Responsible for the safe operation of the company aircraft IAW the limitations specified in the applicable Rotorcraft Flight Manual RFM;
- Must have ability to detect and identify aircraft system malfunctions and symptoms; records and reports snags to appropriate personnel.
- Operates radios to maintain contact with clients, other aircraft, bases, etc.
- Continually reviews weather and other operational considerations to ensure safe aircraft operation.
- Before flight daily ensures aircraft is airworthy, and as often as necessary, undertakes an inspection of the aircraft and operational gear to ensure all items are in working condition, all
lubricant levels are at acceptable levels, sufficient fuel is available for the job.
- Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight
- Liaises with engineer(s) or head office to report and record deficiencies in the aircraft or operational equipment.
- As required, briefs passengers or others on safety in and around aircraft.
- Ensures aircraft is equipped with field requirements such as, but not limited to, fuel pump and hose, bung wrench, axe, emergency food, shelter and other supplies.
- Ability to read and understand maps and air navigation charts.
- Ensures flight plans and maps appropriate to remote work areas are on board aircraft.
- Professionally performs all duties with a level of interpersonal skills appropriate to the position.
- Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information seen or heard.
- In association with certain contracts or jobs may be asked to carry cell phone, pager or radio provided by the company or client.

Requirements:
-Education: Completion of secondary school and graduation from a certified flying or aviation school are required.
-Commercial helicopter pilot’s license /Commercial Pilot License - rotors is required
- Class “D” certified – External load long line
-Responsible for the safe operation of the company aircraft IAW all policies and procedures, the COM and CARs.
-Responsible for the safe operation of the company aircraft IAW the limitations specified in the applicable Rotorcraft Flight Manual RFM;
Experience:
1000+ hours on the BK117 Helicopter
1000+ hours working inside the wire line environment
Multi Engine experience
Training experience
Management Experience
International Experience
Salary: $5000 monthly plus flight pay of $95 per hour and Long Line pay of $15 per hour. Our company guarantees a minimum weekly salary of $1105.50 (based on 30 hours x $36.85 per hour)
An averaging agreement is in place
