G4S has been selected by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) to secure critical elements of the air transportation system, and for the delivery of airport screening services including passenger, hold baggage and non-passenger screening for Vancouver and the Pacific Region.
We are presently recruiting for Scheduler (Vancouver Airport), reporting to the Capacity Manager, this position strives to maintain schedule accuracy and efficiency while providing exceptional customer service.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to:
- Maintains, audits, and administers shift schedules for Screening Officers.
- Responds to requests for shift changes and ensures all vacancies in the schedule are filled with the most suitable and qualified replacements.
- Produce daily shift roster and accompanying reports.
- Completes administrative functions, which include but are not limited to: processing leave requests, shift giveaways, and trade requests.
- Liaise with departments and/or management regarding employee schedules, and ensures information is accurate and flowed in a timely manner.
- Maintains and provides all reports through various scheduling systems and software
- Works in accordance with established processes, Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Federal Labour Code.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- College diploma or equivalent work experience
- Must have a minimum one year experience in an administrative role, preferably in the security or aviation industries
- Must have knowledge of relevant security and employment legislation
- Must be proficient in the use of software programs: Word, Excel, scheduling software
- Understanding of rotational shifts and site schedules
- Strong administrative and data entry skills
- Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to negotiate
- Strong organizational skills, high level of urgency and proven experience meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to work varied shift patterns across all days of the week
