Requirements Analyst (Term) - Innovation Travel Solutions Department

The Vancouver Airport Authority has a full-time term opportunity (2 years) for a Requirements Analyst in the Innovation Travel Solutions Department. Reporting to the Manager, Innovation Travel Solutions, the successful candidate will research and document business requirements for new hardware and software release updates for new and existing products, as well as act as project manager for a variety of projects including developing and implementing custom border solutions for international customers.  Key responsibilities include: Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats  Interview technical and business owners (internal and external to the organization) to develop a deep understanding and customization required for each of the requirements.  Review use cases and other technical documents with other project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents.  Create business requirements and translate them into specifications for complex technical projects Develop functional specifications for developers to be able to begin coding a given feature/enhancement.  Research and document business requirements for new hardware and software release updates for new and existing products  Project lead for researching, analysing and engineering processes for border solutions for a host of International governments  Work with existing and potential customers to identify business requirements for border solutions  Act as Project Manager for a variety of projects  Key qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, or Bachelor of Commerce or other similar discipline with extensive systems experience or degree in Information Systems.  5-7 years of Business Analyst and Technical experience in Information Systems  Systems and process re-engineering  Project management experience  This position will be required to travel to potential customer sites (international travel) to gather requirements and meet with the IT personnel at the customer site.  This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates.
