AOC Airport Firefighter
This position is responsible for undertaking aircraft fire rescue operations and ensuring the safe evacuation of passengers and crew, initiating fire suppression activities, carrying out fire prevention activities, performing routine maintenance of firefighting equipment, and carrying out other duties related to fire, health and safety, and security programs at the Erik Nielson Whitehorse International Airport (ENWIA). This position is well suited for applicants that have flexibility in their work availability schedule.

Additional Information Conditions of Employment: Valid Yukon Class 3 driver’s licence with air endorsement, Transport Canada Transportation Security Clearance (within 3 months); Restricted Radio Operator’s Licence and Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (within 1 month); Pass and maintain Airport Fitness Standard which involves a prior medical assessment; complete the Airport Firefighter Certification program. Job Requirements: Shift work, including working weekends and stat holidays, wearing a uniform provided by the department and completing an annual physical fitness appraisal. |
