Reporting to the Manager, ICT Vendor Management, the Vendor Management Advisor, IT is responsible for overseeing key supplier accounts and assisting with the overall development, operation and continuous improvement of the Vendor Management Office (VMO). This role is accountable for driving value and return on investment (ROI) through supplier relationship management and internal process improvement with a focus on delivering superior customer service in alignment with the needs and goals of the business.
Job Description Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain current and develop new IT supplier relationships, focusing on activities that fostering productive strategic relationships
- Assist with the development of vendor strategies that create mutually beneficial results for the GTAA and its vendors through effective integration of people, process and technology
- Use in-depth understanding of contract management to ensure vendor adherence with contractual terms as well as assist in the negotiation of vendor agreements, amendments and Statements Of Work (SOWs)
- Provide direction to Project Management Office (PMO) regarding contractual terms such as service levels (SLA) and IT standards for new project implementations
- Monitors supplier performance via performance reporting and SLA analysis and use output to direct and guide process/performance improvement activities
- Execute asset performance reporting and scorecards and assess supplier risk based on a vendor risk frameworkas well as assist with the development of effective risk mitigation strategies
- Assist with the development and execution of governance structures for supplier relationships
- Manage IT business relationships (Air Carrier, Passenger, Tenants) related to the performance of IT delivered contracts (where applicable)
- In collaboration with Technology Architecture and Planning (TAP) identify sourcing strategies for IT hardware and software for existing, new and emerging technologies
- Monitors asset performance, return on investment (ROI) and total cost of ownership (TCO) and assist with the implementation of short and long term plans focused on improving performance and increasing value to the organization
- Observe Procurement processes for sourcing IT goods and services and identify efficiencies in sourcing processes as it relates to IT suppliers
- Manage new and existing contracts with regard to changes, amendments and renewals as well as adherence for IT suppliers and assets
- Identify and assist with the development of short and long term plans for IT contracts focused on leveraging relationships to increase GTAA buying power and driving cost savings opportunities
- Assists in assessing the business needs, the market and opportunities to ensure agreements support business needs and functional requirements
- Conduct and report on comprehensive supplier analysis (strategic direction, financial health/risk due diligence, market position, capabilities & capacity, risk assessment)
- Assist with the reporting of operational expenditures related to IT Services budget and ensure adherence with contractual obligations
- Monitor and report on IT Services financial performance to assist the VMO with meeting and exceeding corporate financial goals
- Assist with corrective measures for financial variances including invoice reconciliation
Job Requirements Qualifications:
- University degree in Business
- Certifications: ITIL Foundations and Six Sigma preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor management, including management of third-party vendors and contract negotiation
- 5 or more years of experience in project, contract administration and vendor relations in a technology environment are desirable
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experienced with implementing function-wide risk management processes and tools specific to IT Vendor Management
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Has in-depth knowledge of an IT vendor risk assessment framework and analysis tools and processes
- Knowledge of key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for IT vendor risk management practices
- Abilitity to identify and elaborate on key IT vendor risk management benchmarks
- Knowledge of cross-functional risk management processes, tools and audit mechanisms
- Can describe the pros and cons of various risk management models
- Ability to communicate and presnet to all levels of executive management
- Understands that GTAA focuses on investing in areas that will provide the greatest overall growth opportunities to the organization
- Understands that the customer perspective is the key definer of value (the worth or quality of a product or service)
- Understands it is critical to focus on upfront planning and then deliver on the value we have promised to our customers
- Aware of the ‘lethal issues’ questions that can be asked to help reduce project risk
- Ability to detail overall considerations, including risk, and provide a recommendation
- Ability to develop a questionnaire for seeking reference information
- In-depth experience in evaluating products or services from multiple vendors
- Able to conduct and summarize an interview with current users in the marketplace
