The Calgary Airport Authority is leading an exciting expansion program at YYC worth over two billion dollars. With the recent opening of Canada’s longest runway and the construction of a new international terminal, this is an exciting time to be a part of the YYC Crew.


The Role

TERM (July 2015 - December 31, 2016)

Reporting to Manager, Training, our Instructional Designers will work to design and develop the training programs required for the successful integration of our new terminal facility. In addition, this role will also require the candidate to deliver training programs to a variety of stakeholders throughout the project.

Key responsibilities include:
·         Collaborating and consulting with internal and external team members and other business units to identify requirements, establish learning objectives and assessment strategies.
·         Designing and developing high-quality, effective learning materials and experiences for a wide variety of airport stakeholders who require specialized learning programs.
·         Recommending delivery strategies that leverage leader-led, video and online learning technologies.
·         Maintaining accurate documentation using departmental templates, standards and related processes for design and development.
·         Conducting pilot and train the trainer sessions as required and/or delivering specialized programs to airport stakeholder audiences as required.
·         Measuring and monitoring program results and developing appropriate strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
·         Participating in system or process trials prior to the delivery of the facility.
Basic Requirements
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design or related subject and/or equivalent education and experience.
·         Proven Instructional Design experience in a corporate environment.
·         Previous experience with facilitation, preferably in the corporate environment.
·         Excellent planning, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously.
·         Ability to deliver in a climate of ongoing evolution and changes in client needs and contexts.
·         Advanced knowledge in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills are required and demonstrated strong attention to detail.
·         Flexibility to work extra hours including weekends, and evenings if required.

Additional Requirements - The following would be considered assets:
·         Knowledge and experience in airport and/or airline operations services and procedures
·         Ability to develop graphics, animations, multi-media and other interactive components for online learning
·         Knowledge and experience with Adobe InDesign
