BCIT competes for Webster Cup

The Webster Cup is an annual competition that recognizes the best amateur pilots in Canada. Sponsored by Air Canada - Flight Operations, and numerous companies and organizations from the aviation sector, it has become one of Canada’s most prestigious aviation events.

The John Webster Memorial Trophy Competition was established in 1932 by the late Dr. J. C. Webster in memory of his son, John, who was killed while training to represent Canada in an aerobatic flying competition.

This year, the Pacific Flying Club is hosting the Webster Cup, and BCIT student Simon Horlick is in the running. August 18-22 Boundary Bay Airport will be a busy place as Simon and eight other finalists from across the country compete for the title of Canada’s top amateur pilot.
