As a member of the Air China Cargo team, this position will be critical in establishing a strong, supportive and engaged team that will deliver on Air China Cargo’s commitments.
Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the local Station Manager, the Cargo Service Operator will: • Negotiate and arrange transport of goods with shipping or freight companies, and quote fare and rates for cargo shipment • Maintain and increase customer base revenue and market share • Compute freight costs, calculate charges, process billing with agents and maintain all shipping documentation • Advise and answer customer inquiries • Report market conditions, trends and activity on competitive pricing on a timely basis • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships
Special Requirements Qualifications/Experience: • Basic knowledge of air transportation principles and methods, customer and personal service • Fluent (spoken and written) English and Mandarin • Class 5 driver license • Completion of post-secondary education preferred • Strong computer skills - hardware and associated software (e.g. Cargo system, electronic mail, MS word , Excel, etc) • Previous related work experience, or airline, marine, or land transportation operations experience considered an asset • Good problem solving skill • Applicants must be authorized to work in the Canada for any employer - no sponsorship is available for this position • Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance is required
