Flight Attendant Manager

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ability to plan and organize the resources of multiple areas with complex needs while balancing competing demands over an extended period of time.
  • Assist in Analyzing, developing and managing ideas for improvements to the operations business systems
  • Proactive assessment of job hazard analysis and the mitigation of such hazards. (i.e. work tasks, job locations, policies and procedures etc.)
  • Build strong relationships with all members of the Management Team. Establish their trust and confidence by keeping them informed and abreast of potential issues and solving problems
  • Development or implementation of all required training programs for the air operator's flight attendants.
  • Ensure all catering is ordered and the Flight Attendants are aware of any changes.
  • Ensure all pre-flight and operations reports are completed in accordance with CAR's.
  • Ensure expense sheets and time sheets are accurate and submitted for all Flight Attendants.
  • Ensure that all Flight Attendants are adhering to the R1 uniform policy.
  • Establish a consistently high level of visibility throughout R1 Airlines.
  • Establish oneself as an approachable, self-confident leader who will be inclusive with and available to staff.
  • Excellent understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
  • Issues directives and notices to the flight crews, as required.
  • Lead by being attentive and responsive to issues by establishing oneself as an involved, hands-on, problem-solving individual.
  • Leads others in safe practice and manages risk effectively.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development (i.e. Weekly Operations Meetings, Montly SMS Meetings).
  • Network with other members of the Aviation industry and attend industry events, as required.
  • Purchase, stock and distribute Flight Attendant uniforms.
  • Responsible for the actioning and distribution of accident and occurrence reports.
  • Responsible to ensure a current and approved Flight Attendant Manual is maintained.
  • Responsible to ensure a current and approved Flight Attendant training program is maintained.
  • Responsible to ensure communication through the issuance of directives and notices to the Flight Attendants, as required.
  • Review resumes, conduct interviews and reference checks and hire new Flight Attendants to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Schedule Flight Attendants to ensure all flights are covered on a day-to-day basis.
  • Team building strategies to ensure all departments are effectively communicating.
  • To work within the Flight Attendant budget for the year (including training, uniforms, commissary costs, etc.).
  • Supervision of flight attendants.
  • Training of flight attendants in accordance with the approved training program; maintenance of flight attendant training records.
  • The development of safety feature cards.
  • Assuming responsibilities as delegated by the Flight Operations Manager.
  • In his or her absence, all responsibilities for duties shall be delegated to another qualified individual.
Qualifications: 
  • Knowledgeable of the contents of the Air Operators Operations Manual, hold an Air Operator Certificate and operations specifications, as are necessary for the performance of the assigned duties
  • Demonstrate to the Minister that this person has the ability to fulfil the responsibilities of the position.
  • Know the provisions of the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards, as necessary for the performance of the assigned duties.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Shows integrity, ingenuity and assertiveness in the performance of tasks.
Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Flight Attendant.
