The Operations Manager leads efficiently the day to day operations at the station including but not limited to Into-plane fueling and the Fuel Storage Facility through the supervision of all departments. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that high customer service standards are being delivered under each contractual agreement, as well as meet all company performance objectives and safety targets through the management and engagement of the management team and staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, oversee, empower and mentor all supervisors within the YVR station
- Ensure day to day operations are run efficiently and safely
- Implement standard safety and SOP procedures and directives
- Manage resources effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and meet contractual requirements but also meet our budget on labour cost
- Assist the General Manager in developing annual budget and monthly reports
- Review and develop corrective actions, if applicable with the P&L assisting Station General Manager
- Ensure timely compliance with all statutory obligations under the CLC, provincial WCB, Canadian Human Rights, Environment Canada Act, etc.
- Maintain strong working relationship and liaise with all customers and Airport Authorities
- Available to respond to crisis situations effectively
- Adhere to Swissport Policy and Union bargaining agreements as applicable
- Motivate frontline staff employees by demonstrating strong leadership presence and open communication
- Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager
Qualifications and Competencies
- College or University Level Degree preferred
- 5 to 10 years of management experience
- Experience in an Aviation setting is an asset
- Fuel storage facility knowledge and aircraft refueling experience an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Thorough knowledge and work experience with Windows Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Profit and Loss (P&L) Statements / budgets and keeping control over financials
- Must be fluent in English, spoken and written
