Avmax Group Inc. requires an Operations Manager for the Regional 1 Airlines division.

Reporting to the General Manager specific duties include:
•Ensure that crew scheduling complies with flight and duty time regulations, and that all crew members are kept informed of any changes to the regulations and standards; Qualifications of flight crew; and the identification of operations coordination functions which impact on operational control (e.g. maintenance, crew scheduling, load control, equipment scheduling).



•Liaison with the regulatory authority on all matters concerning flight operations, including any variations to the air operator's Air Operator Certificate.
•Ability to plan and organize the resources of multiple areas with complex needs while balancing competing demands over an extended period of time.
•Attend Safety Management Committee meetings.
•Build strong relationships with all members of the Management Team. Establish their trust and confidence by keeping them informed and abreast of potential issues and solving problems.
•Control of operations and operational standards of all aeroplanes operated.
•Identification of operations coordination functions which impact on operational control (e.g. maintenance, crew scheduling, load control, equipment scheduling etc.)
•Ensure that the air operator's operations are conducted in accordance with the current regulations, standards and air operator policy.
•Establish a consistently high level of visibility throughout R1 Airlines.
•Establish oneself as an approachable, self-confident leader who will be inclusive with and available to staff.
•Excellent understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
•Lead by being attentive and responsive to issues by establishing oneself as an involved hands-on, problem-solving individual; Leads others in safe practice and manages risk effectively.
•Ensuring that crew scheduling complies with flight and duty time regulations, and that crews are kept informed of any changes to the regulations and standards.
•Liaison with external agencies which may affect air operator operations.
•Maintenance of a current operations library.
•Network with other members of the Aviation industry and attend industry events, as required.
•Provide guidance to assist underperforming staff members within the business unit.
•Responsible for the dissemination of aeroplane safety information, both internal & external.
•Responsible for the contents of the air operator's Company Operations Manual.
•Responsible for the dissemination of aeroplane safety information, both internal and external.
•Team building strategies to ensure all departments are effectively communicating.
•Responsible for the receipt and actioning of any aeronautical information affecting the safety of flight.
•Responsible for the supervision of and the production and amendment of the Company Operations Manual. 

i. flight operations;

ii. cabin safety;

iii. crew scheduling and rostering;

iv. training programs; and

v. flight safety.
•In his or her absence, all responsibilities for duties shall be delegated to another qualified individual. 

Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree preferable in related field: Communications; Business; Commerce
•M.B.A. designation considered an asset.
•Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups, major projects, or initiatives.
•Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative management style.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Shows integrity, ingenuity, and assertiveness in the performance of tasks.
•Meets the qualifications outlined in the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
•Able to demonstrate necessary knowledge to the Minister required to hold the position.

Experience:
•Minimum 10 years' experience in the industry.
•Minimum 8 years' experience managing a team.
