SALARY: $40.23 -$44.62 per hour (37.5 hours per week)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Parking & Controls Specialist is accountable for the Parking systems and other information technology systems facilitating airport operations. This position is focused on maximizing the operational capabilities of Edmonton Airports and the optimal functionality of networked hardware and physical system components. This position will collaborate with members of the Airport IT department to planning, scoping, troubleshoot and mitigate outages to airline and airport operational information technology systems. The Parking & Controls Specialist has strong cross-functional linkages to Operations, Infrastructure, and Parking & Ground Transportation.

This position will also provide a supporting role to the Engineering, Planning & Operational Compliance department as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area of electrical and control systems on existing and future infrastructure at the airport. This will include being a key stakeholder in commissioning of related capital projects, and working with Maintenance Planning on developing Preventative Maintenance Programs. This position will participate in and organize planning activities for changes to the current facility, based on new technologies, and will guide the technical aspects of planning for electrical and controls infrastructure for the future airport. Leveraging experience in project management & planning the position will conduct project scoping in their area of expertise for the purpose of defining technical requirements, functional requirements and costing to project planning.

• Ensure electronics equipment for airport buildings and structures supports associated systems, by providing exceptional design, installation, service and maintenance.
• Ensure optimal functionality of airport systems and conduct project scoping in area of expertise.
• Analyze and identify issues impacting operational performance and establish initiatives for continuous improvement to ensure maximum availability of systems.
• Provide exceptional and timely service response to customer calls & Duty Manager Logs regarding damage, repairs, trouble and emergencies.
• Provide accurate and timely administrative support functions.
• Develop, implement and review departmental processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks.
• The position performs (limited involvement) the role of electrical and controls technical expert for the Engineering, Planning & Operational Compliance department for new construction and infrastructure changes at EA airports.

Special Requirements
• 
Industry recognized professional designation (CET, CTech, P.Eng)
• Knowledge of Parking Systems, Electrical distribution Systems, Communication Systems, SCADA systems, Airfield electrical systems, and Building Automation Systems.
• Proficient with office software.
• Investigative and creative problem solving abilities that consider a multitude of stakeholders.
• Ability to Plan, install, maintain and service computerized equipment
• Ability to secure and maintain appropriate level of airport security
