New Posting - Pacific Coastal Airlines

Pacific Coastal Airlines is currently looking for a permanent full time Crew Planner. This position is based out of the Pacific Coastal Airlines head office in the South Terminal building at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.

The Crew Planner is a key member of the Flight Operations department at Pacific Coastal Airlines. This individual develops efficient monthly flight crew schedules while incorporating commercial requirements, training, vacations, and GDOs in accordance with the established budget. 

The key responsibilities for this role are to prepare and maintain crew budgets, ensure crew schedules are completed efficiently and by required deadlines, and provide support to the Manager, Operations Planning with the creation of monthly rosters.

The ideal candidate has relevant experience in a similar aviation operations role. Excellent communication skills are required as this individual is in constant communication with all members of the flight operations department. Additionally, a strong sense of ethics is important for success in this role to ensure that crew schedules are fair and consistent.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Ensure pilot training is completed on time, on budget and to company standards.
-Create flight simulator and aircraft training schedules.
-Create flight simulator bookings and pairings.
-Create training schedule for all ground schools.
-Monitor training and simulator costs and describe variances from the budget.
-Review training invoices to ensure a cost-effective operation.
-Follow training progress of crew for new pilots and upgrades.
-Process GDO (Guaranteed Days Off) requests from flight crews.
-Assist with annual crew vacation bidding.
-Assist with the creation of annual training and crew budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
-Previous experience as a crew planner in the aviation industry
-Experience working in Amelia Res
-Aviation/airline operations experience is a very strong asset
-Experience working with AmeliaCrew is an asset

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
-Excellent organizational and time management skills
-Planning, forecasting and goal setting 
-Budgeting and financial analysis
-Intermediate technical skills in Microsoft Office
-Knowledge of Pacific Coastal and CARS scheduling rules
-Knowledge of Pacific Coastal Training Manual and Company procedures is an asset
-Knowledge of IFR Pilot Employment Practices Manual and Flight Attendant Compensation Guideline is an asset
