Attendance and Disability Management Coordinator
G4S Secure Solutions Canada  - Richmond, BC
The Coordinator, Attendance & Disability Management is responsible for the day-to- day coordination and administration in disability and attendance management. With a primary focus to YVR, at times the position also supports the Regional Airports. The position works out of the Richmond office.

Role Responsibility: 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to: 
  • Act as the key contact and liaison for disability and attendance needs at YVR.
  • Proactively manages occupational and non-occupational disabilities and absences.
  • Follow and administer the attendance management policy and program.
  • Support supervisors/managers in executing and implementing the attendance management program.
  • Collaborate with the Capacity/Scheduling department, analyze attendance data, and make recommendations on appropriate absence thresholds.
  • Initiate the attendance management process by notifying the manager that the employee has exceeded the absence threshold.
  • Provide assistance on the development of individualized goals at the conclusion of each meeting.
  • Prepare materials and coordinate logistics for meetings with employees.
  • Collaborate with the Workplace Health & Safety Advisor, report work related injuries and illnesses.
  • Assess, monitor and adjust return to work plans based on medically supported documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Workplace Health & Safety Advisor and the LR Advisor to identify and develop modified return to work plans and accommodations for the disabled or injured employee.
  • Ensure the Operations, Training, HR and Scheduling departments are aware of the return to work of an employee to facilitate a timely return to work.
  • Identify when additional assessments and accommodations are required.
  • Deliver training as required with respect to disability and attendance management.
  • Maintain records and files.
  • Maintain up-to- date knowledge of and adherence to all applicable legislation, standards and guidelines.
  • On occasions, may be required to work on a weekend or outside normal office hours
  • Cross train team members.

The Ideal Candidate: 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in disability management in an unionized HR environment, with solid knowledge of attendance management principles and practices, return to work/disability case management and evaluations
  • Current on all relevant legislations (Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights Code, etc.)
  • Strong disability case management skills in a high volume environment
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • CHRP certification, or Certified Disability Management professional preferred
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively challenge the status quo with all levels of the organization
  • Strong ethics in regards to privacy, confidentiality and protecting the interests of the company
  • Hands-on individual who takes ownership and works well as part of a multi-location team
  • Ability to cooperate and deal tactfully with others
  • Exceptional customer service skills with ability to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple priorities
  • Must be eligible to apply for Federal Secret Security Clearance
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside of traditional office hours
