SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- 3 year post secondary education with a concentration in business/marketing /communications preferred.
- Minimum 5 years previous related experience, within the aviation industry would be considered an asset.
- Strategic thinker with creative marketing planning skills.
- Ability to translate ideas into actions within allocated resources.
- Must have demonstrated experience dealing with media.
- Must possess superior interpersonal & communication skills.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proven leader with strong decision making capabilities.
- Excellent writing skills and previous experience in developing corporate proposals, press releases, etc.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Demonstrated self-starter who can work independently.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Builds a work culture such that maximizing revenue, optimizing sales and ensuring customer satisfaction are key to drive effectiveness.
- Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans for marketing, communications, public relations, advertisement, corporate events and trade shows to assist the Sales team in achieving revenue targets; generate product awareness; brand identity and assist in driving business opportunities.
- Responsible for the development and promotion of the corporate brand.
- Writes and leads Company communications with agencies, customers and media relations including press releases, magazine articles, social media, etc.
- Performs marketing research and analysis; evaluates effectiveness; makes recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative data.
- Develop and maintain sales & marketing support materials such as RFP response templates, product/service brochures, etc.
- Leads sponsorship planning, brand positioning and oversees sponsorship agreements.
- Plans and executes promotional events and participation at public & private events.
- Manages commercial website content and ensures optimal functionality for customers.
- Provides vision and direction to the advertising agency; monitors & reports on results.
- Manages acquisition, inventory and distribution/sale of promotional merchandise.
- Creates and issues Company press releases and represents First Air as key spokesperson.
- Represents First Air publicly as the Media Director for the Emergency Response Team.
- Responsible for expense and revenue budgets.
- Represents First Air professionally in conferences, trade shows and other community/promotional events.
- Other duties as assigned.
