Posting Close Date: 04/01/2018 (Please note the posting will close at 11:59pm) Job Title: Base Supervisor -In-flight- Hamilton Based Swoop is recruiting for motivated and dynamic Inflight Base Supervisor, with the ability to lead a front-line team to achieve optimal performance. This position is an integral part of the inflight management team. Overview Accountable for assigned cabin crewmembers at the base level, the Inflight Base Supervisor provides guidance and direction with a focus on safety to our team and to the operation while proactively managing costs within their control. Reporting to the Manager, Operations & Training Inflight, the Base Supervisor sets an environment that allows our Swoop cabin crewmembers to achieve extraordinary results and create a remarkable experience for internal and external travelers. Responsibilities Include: Supervision of cabin crewmembers relating to cabin safety, standards, and service Ensuring the safety of our cabin crewmembers and our travelers as priority Creates and maintain an environment for achieving operational goals and employee engagement targets through the development of a strong, dynamic front-line team, the empowerment of our cabin crewmembers, and the promotion of positive employee relations Accountability for performance related to safety, operational KPI’s, traveler satisfaction and cabin crewmember engagement Involvement in the Swoop safety plan including emergency response, audits, employee injuries and illness Model, guide and motivate front line team to achieve priorities Building solid relationships with other airline leaders within the airport community, airport authority and external partners Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Flight Operations, Crew Planning and Crew Scheduling as well as external agencies (i.e. CATSA, pass control, airport authority) Proactively identify and understand the key issues within the crew base and develop action plans for continuous improvement Building relationships through open and honest communication, focusing on the development of the front-line team through coaching and mentorship Providing input and insight on process changes and/or innovations you feel will improve our team, the operation or profitability Conducting cabin crewmember inflight line assessments Qualified as a Swoop cabin crewmember and maintains competency Conducts Inspections-Aircraft & Crew Room Conducts Line Indoctrinations Qualifications: 2+ years of leadership experience required with a demonstrated balance between customer service, safety and operations Industry experience within the Inflight area a requirement Proven knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS) Parts 1, V, VI, VII Proven track record of developing effective teams Post-secondary education an asset Ability to multitask & handle changing priorities Proficient in PC based applications, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook A strong understanding of the working environment of cabin crew is an asset Excellent oral and written skills are required Proven organization and time management skills Travel out of town may be required Available to work weekends and evenings Operate as a Flight Attendant as required Other special projects as required by the Senior Leader, Inflight Key Attributes: You are positive, a team player and able to adapt to a fast paced and ever-changing environment Your superior organizational skills allow you to work effectively in a dynamic environment You have an interactive leadership style which creates an energetic atmosphere You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Must have strong and demonstrated communication/interpersonal skills If you love a challenge, are passionate about what you do and always go above and beyond to exceed expectations - you'll fit right in here.
