Greater Toronto Airports Authority 

Key Accountabilities

This role will be responsible for the development, implementation and operation of the community funding program to enhance Toronto Pearson’s community reputation with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. This role is critical to the building the GTAA’s social license to grow and on the airport’s sustainability.

Process Oversight and Reporting:
  • Responsible and point of entry in oversight of community funding program, in collaboration with Manager
  • Review, assess, and advise on incoming funding requests and potential community partnerships by vetting against investment pillars and other funding/guideline criteria
  • Prepare partnership agreements for Senior Management approval
  • Monitor agreements with grant recipients and review their progress and final reports
  • Monitor and maintain a comprehensive tracker for sponsorship and donations activities, including reconciliation and follow up
  • Report project data as requested to performance and planning
  • Maintain a database of program information using current technologies and computerized on-line applications; maintain up-to-date files on each project and partnership
  • Deliver internal employee engagement programs, including Employee Sponsorships & Donations, Casual for a Cause, the GTAA Employee Family Bursary Program and employee volunteer initiatives
Relationship Management:
  • With the support and oversight of the Manager, responsible for managing and growing relationships with new and existing fund recipients, partner organizations, and community agencies
  • Forge strong relationships with funding recipients to enhance awareness, understanding and participation in the program
  • Manage relationships once partnership agreements are agreed upon, including implementation of any engagement, activation or volunteer activities
  • Deliver on all GTAA commitments of funding agreements
  • Plan and execute programs for employee community to be ambassadors of the Community Investment Program initiatives
  • Recommend tactics to Manager to build senior management and executive buy-in for community investment program objectives and ensure industry-leading granting program
Program Communications and Awareness Building:
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop and implement integrated awareness campaign to promote program, and funding partners
  • Collaborate on messaging and communications/creative collateral for internal, funding partner and PR audiences
  • Implement and evaluate event plans, communication tools in support of partnership agreement deliverables
  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of these events, including volunteer recruitment, and preparing external communications
  • Oversight of the implementation of a communications plan with key partners
  • Contribute to a review of the Program website

Qualifications

  • Must have a post-secondary diploma or degree; Diploma and degree in Corporate Social Responsibility or related discipline is preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years’ of experience fundraising, not-for-profit management experience, community development and the administration and allocation of funding for community grants
  • Demonstrated experience in administering corporate community investments for social return , working with sponsorship and corporate impact principles and practices employee engagement management , and building and maintaining long-term partner relationships,
  • Experience managing and executing galvanizing events
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, with experience writing of reports, briefing notes and project summaries
  • Experience in development of annual impact reports and program evaluation documentation. Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in managing and implementing programs that yield positive reputational growth, and build social impact
  • Experience in relationship management using listening, diplomacy and tact to build on and deal with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in negotiating complex, high profile or sensitive agreements while building compromise and collaborations among stakeholders
  • Project management experience, including experience developing, implementing and evaluation programs and work plans
  • Experience with drafting and interpreting partnership/funding agreements
  • Must possess valid Class G valid Driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience overseeing a large investment budget, including developing reporting metrics to confirm funding programs are delivering on objectives
  • Experience in social impact reporting and using story-telling as a support and impact reporting tool
  • Experience in building, managing and implementing programs that achieve outlined return-on-investment metrics
  • Experience working with community agencies and non-profit organizations with different needs and level of sophistication
  • Familiarity with the sociology of a large and complex urban area with an ethno-racially, linguistically and economically diverse population.
  • Knowledge of interest-based negotiation techniques in community development fund management
  • Ability to develop work plans that deliver on program objectives and adhere to Airport security and safety requirements
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Social media savvy
  • Good working knowledge of modern communication techniques and third party tools such as Wufoo, SurveyMonkey, Eventbrite, Trello, Mailchimp
  • Thrives in a fast-moving, agile and collaborative environment
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and a strong multitasker, and a disciplined doer
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative
  • Work requires responding to changing priorities and deadlines during events, activities, meetings and programs related to community engagement
  • Overtime, evening and weekend work will occasionally be required
