We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Analyst, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in the Finance Department. Reporting to the Manager, ERM, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Airport Authority’s ERM and Sustainability Reporting programs, including developing, executing and supporting the oversight of assigned risk, reporting and control programs and processes.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate risk identification and assessment process with all levels of the organization including key internal stakeholders, management and executives
  • Participate in regular and ad hoc meetings with all levels of the organization to stay abreast on and track ERM issues, current events and emerging trends and actively linking these to the risk register, tolerances and strategic plan
  • Prepare meeting materials, provide ERM analysis and recommendations and support successful remediation of risks by ensuring mitigations and action plans are applicable and adequately influence risk ratings
  • Prepare regular reporting to senior and executive leadership team and the Board of Directors
  • Review budget submissions, project approval and contract approval documents and provide feedback and recommendations from an ERM perspective to drive enterprise decision-making
  • Subject matter expert on the ERM Risk Register database ensuring that all data is accurate, current and relevant
  • Develop methodologies to analyse risk data and strengthen risk identification across the organization
  • Take a lead role in implementing LogicManager risk management software across departments
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on how to  complete, update and interpret required risk management
  • Facilitate the collection of data and content with departments and coordinate with the Marketing and Communications department for the development of the Annual and Sustainability Report
  • Monitor changing conditions of the reporting framework and ensure the Sustainability Program complies with the guiding principles and disclosures under the existing reporting framework
  • Act as a key representative for any external assurance engagements on the Annual and Sustainability Report, including ensuring all processes to support such assurance are implemented and necessary information required by the external auditor is provided
  • Work with management in liaising externally with sustainability-related committees, groups and stakeholders to ensure the material aspects continue to be relevant to stakeholders
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and monitoring of processes and procedures, guidelines, tools, templates, training and other support required for the ERM and sustainability programs across the organization, and providing ongoing support
  • Unify and create synergies between the risk, compliance and reporting programs at the Authority, including ERM, sustainability and other departmental/organizational programs
  • Continuous improvement of the ERM and sustainability programs by applying best practice methodologies to ensure the programs are fluid, proactive and a driver of enterprise decision-making strategies and actions
  • Work with internal stakeholders, including Internal Audit, to identify gaps and recommendations for improving the ERM and sustainability programs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the elements of the Authority’s risk and sustainability frameworks and programs, including supporting the corporate commitment, strategy and change management toward the programs
  • Ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities
Key qualifications include:
  • A minimum of two years’ recent, related experience supplemented by an undergraduate degree in commerce, sustainability, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience working with LogicManager risk management software an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of sustainability reporting under GRI, including the application of the standards in determining material aspects and indicators for reporting
  • Knowledge of business/data analysis, project management, meeting management and facilitation
  • Advanced knowledge of the values, principles, practices, methods and techniques pertaining to sustainability to support the alignment to the Authority’s strategic plan and strategic objectives
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others in a team
  • Ability to work with other departments and manage multiple competing projects and priorities under tight timelines without compromising quality
  • Sound decision making and communication skills as decisions made, as well as projects and programs implemented by this position impact all Airport Authority employees
  • Project management skills including planning, scheduling and documentation
  • Demonstrated focus on innovation and continuous improvement with a preference for operating in an entrepreneurial environment and a proven ability to be effective in a fast-paced, ambiguous and changing environment
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion with sensitive information and able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare communications and interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Proficiency with Excel, Access and/or other database programs
