New Posting: Flight Operations Specialist

Navtech is recruiting a full time Flight Operations Specialist for the office in Waterloo, ON.

Summary:
The Flight Operations Specialist is responsible for database updates, NOTAM processing, flight planning, runway analysis, Level 1 customer support, and other duties specified by the Manager, Flight Operations and Outsource Services.

Responsibilities:
• Provide flight planning, flight watch, ATC coordination, weather/NOTAM packages, and ground to air communications as requested from our OpsCentre™ (outsourced) customers to fully meet their needs.
• Provide Level 1 support to Dispatch Pro™, Navtech Flight Plan (NFP)™, Dispatch Express™, Weight and Balance, Crewing and Charting customers in order to resolve or escalate any problems as per procedures to ensure customer requirements are met. The list of supported products will expand over time.
• Support the Account Management and Sales teams with the input of data as required.
• Monitor and action as appropriate all inbound SITA, AFTN, ARINC, emails and fax requests and messages.
• Ensure all documentation and reports are prepared, maintained and forwarded to relevant parties as required.
• Processing/translating domestic, international and Flight Information Region NOTAMS, and managing NOTAM database after normal working hours.
• Assisting with the updating and maintenance of internal databases.
• Provide runway analysis services (V1+) for customers when requested.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of airline operational experience, primarily in flight dispatch
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Flexibility to work shift rotation
• Working knowledge of aviation charts and approach plates
• Able to decode and understand aviation weather and NOTAMS
• Strong computer and typing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Transport Canada Dispatch and Meteorological exam completion (preferred)
• Valid Radiotelephone Operator’s Restricted license (preferred)
