The Role

Experience our energy behind the scenes at one of Canada's busiest airports. Reporting to the Supervisor, Airfield Services, the successful candidate will be trained to be part of a DYNAMIC team who will be responsible for the following duties:

• Operate unique equipment used to maintain airport surfaces
• Perform bird and wildlife control
• Inspect and evaluate runways, taxiways and apron surface conditions
• Repair fences, gates and airport signage
• Assist in construction and repair of roads, drainage systems, landscape projects and other projects as assigned
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs on airfield maintenance equipment
• Perform maintenance and repairs on airfield surfaces and facilities
• Adhere to established safe working procedures 

Basic Requirements   

1. Valid Class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement
2. Work a rotating shift schedule and be on call
3. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) and a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
4. Ability to obtain a Firearms Acquisition Certificate
5. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a dynamic team
6. Ability to build and maintain positive and respectful working relationships
7. Demonstrated ability to take directions and implement instructions in a timely manner
8. Meet requirements of acting in a safety-sensitive position
