Firt Air in Yellowknofe is currently recruiting a COORDINATOR, HERCULES & CHARTER OPERATIONS(FULL TIME), Reference # M800771

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
• Grade 12 education
• 2 years experience with charter logistics, quoting & coordination within the ad hoc charter market and 2 years customer service experience
• Operational knowledge of cargo load control and handling
• Dangerous Goods Shipper/Acceptance level
• Other relevant airline experience would be considered an asset (e.g. passenger/ramp handling, catering, SOCC, etc)
• Knowledge and understanding of flight operations, aircraft limitations and maintenance
• Strong organizational, customer service & interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate in Aboriginal Languages considered an asset
• Must be adept at handling multiple tasks, and prioritizing duties
• Previous heavy equipment operation and heavy construction experience preferred
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and a valid passport (or have the ability to obtain)
• Proven ability to work under minimal supervision
• Must provide a medical certificate indicating the ability to perform physical labour related duties (on request)
• Ability to work shift work to meet demands of charter operations including weekends, holidays and on call, as required
• Solid computer skills, including the full MS Office Suite/Excel and Word and proficiency in AIMS, an asset
• Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
• Liaise all operational and sales functions with customers/expeditors for Hercules & charter aircraft operations
• Organize charter logistics (e.g. aircraft/crew availability, refueling requirements, passenger/ramp handling, catering requirements, applicable permits, Customs/Immigration, contingency planning, payment, etc) to meet customer needs
• Coordinate with all relevant First Air departments and outside contract agencies to meet the customer's needs and optimize availability and utilization
• Gather and disseminate all information as it relates to the Hercules/charter operation
• Contingency planning for delayed/cancelled flights
• Coordinate the re-protection of passengers for charter flights for weather delays and cancellations
• Liaise with Crew Scheduling to ensure maximum crew utilization
• Potentially based away from home for extended periods of time based on theatre of operations
• Participate in the weekly Hercules/Charter Operational call
• Plan and disseminate the "daily advisory sheets"
• Provide excellent customer service internally and externally
• Develop, maintain and ensure customer satisfaction of all charter operations
• Ability to meet 24/7 operational demands, as required
• Other duties as assigned.
