The Vancouver Airport Authority has an opportunity for a full-time, temporary Human Resources Advisor in the Human Resources department. Reporting to the Director Human Resources, the successful candidate will be a dynamic and progressive HR professional looking to act as an internal ambassador to champion and communicate a variety of Human Resources programs and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
• Provides guidance and assistance to employees and managers on human resource policies and programs including training and development, rewards and recognition, conflict resolution, and performance management
• Works with managers to coach teams for high performance
• Conducts a training needs analysis, coordinates all corporate training and effectively communicates course offerings to the business
• Delivers educational sessions to managers and employees on various HR related topics
• Utilizes superior organizational skills to manage all corporate rewards and recognition programs
• Implements various HR programs and initiatives within the business
• Works with other internal HR professionals in delivering/implementing functional initiatives to the business
• Special project work as required

Key qualifications include:
• Business Degree with a focus in Human Resources or Organizational Development
• 5 or more years’ of progressive experience as an Intermediate to Senior HR Generalist, with a focus in Training and Development which includes experience in working with business professionals in a consultative capacity
• Exceptional writing skills to prepare a variety of written communications including: policies and guidelines, intranet content, and training material
• Ability to research, analyse and present thoughtful solutions, in a responsive, timely manner
• Ability to build and foster effective client relationships and use effective influencing strategies with a client-service focus and a “we can help”, teamwork orientation
• Excellent time management skills, with the proven ability to juggle and reprioritize based on business demands and priorities
• Effective facilitation and presentation skills
• Experienced in recruitment and selection
• Interest in personal development and keeping current in human resource practices through external resources
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, high level of enthusiasm and ability to excel in a fast paced environment
• Excellent computer skills in MS suite
