Fort McMurray International Airport is currently recruiting a full-time Airport Operations Assistant

SALARY RANGE: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

 POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting Manager, North Terminal, Airside Operations and Training, the Airport
Operations Assistant provides coordination, communications, administrative and
operational support to the North Terminal and Operations Department in a wide variety
of situations ranging from routine to terminal and airfield emergencies.



KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Completes required documentation following an airfield or terminal emergency;
formally documents pertinent calls and actions in the Operations log; maintains
emergency records and documentation
• Provides control and coordination of vehicles and PPE for consultants and tours
• Performs a wide variety of general administrative and clerical functions; prepares
correspondence, reports, presentations, memoranda, charts, tables, records and
other documents; edits, revises and reformats text; maintains and updates
databases and operations, leasing and training files and condo files as required
• Assist in the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences and conference
calls
• Assist in preparing and administering orientation/training materials as required
• Ensure the safety and accuracy of all Operations documents
• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining systems (manual/electronic
filing) for the retention of vital operations records
• Provide administration/technical support as needed and order supplies as
necessary

Skills and Abilities:
• Coordinate and communicate effectively and efficiently during emergency and
non-emergency situations
• Reason and analyze situations accurately and initiate effective courses of action
in emergency and non-emergency situations and dispatching relevant airport
personnel
• Maintain a calm professional demeanor and response in handling sensitive and
emergency situations and dispatching relevant airport personnel
• Manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities in a face paced environment with
competing deadlines
• Organize, set priorities and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of
responsibility
• Organize, research and maintain complex office files
• Operate computers and word processing software and other standard office
equipment
• Communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
• Prepare clear, accurate and concise records and reports
• Maintain highly sensitive and confidential information
• Use a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive
situations and concerned and/or upset groups and individuals
• Exemplify an enthusiastic, resourceful, team oriented and effective customer
service attitude

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Five years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial
experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
