We have vacancy for an avid individual with skills to perform specialized and detailed tasks in support of airport security, safety, and emergency preparedness programs; assists in the development and documentation of programmatic material; facilitates training and familiarization initiatives; ensures program compliance in accordance with directives, guidelines, and regulations; performs related duties as assigned.

Example of responsibilities includes and is not limited to the following:
  1. Assists in the development, documentation, implementation, management, and administration of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)-approved Airport Security Program (ASP), FAA-approved Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) and Airport Certification Manual (ACM).
  2. Develops plans, procedures and initiatives for implementation in consonance with regulatory requirements; prepares written materials--from Airport Tenant Advisories to dedicated training programs.
  3. Develops, documents and provides training as required; identifies and resolves issues, problems, or deficiencies working with internal and external stakeholders to include TSA, air carrier management, non-aviation tenants, and contractors.
  4. Conducts investigations and analysis of security breaches and violations; recommends corrective actions, completes reports and conducts follow-up evaluations; conducts inspections of facilities, access controls, barriers, fences, and lighting for compliance with Airport and federal civil aviation security and safety regulations.
  5. Performs detailed analysis, evaluations and assessments of and makes recommendations for improving Aviation Security, Public Safety, and Emergency Preparedness programs, plans, procedures, and measures, including those associated with Airport and aviation and non-aviation tenant operations.
  6. Assists with coordination and execution of emergency/crisis exercises and provides applicable training as required; develops and oversees security operations for construction projects, special events, reduced/limited access control, and contingencies to ensure compliance with the ASP.
  7. Assists with the development and implementation of training initiatives related to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS); conducts training on same for appropriate Authority personnel and other need to know entities.
  8. Interfaces with and serves as a liaison to government agencies including the Harbor Police Department (HPD), San Diego Fire Department (SDFD), Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA); performs other duties as requested.

Graduation from a four-year college or university; and five years of progressively responsible administrative and/or programmatic experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
