Central Mountain Air is currently recruiting a Safety Management System (SMS) Administrator – Smithers, BC
Position: SMS
Administrator – Full Time
Reports to: The
Accountable Executive, Operations Manager, Director of Maintenance
Scope of the Position:
The SMS Administrator provides guidance and direction for the planning,
implementation, and operation of the company’s Safety Management System. They
interact with operational personnel, senior managers, and departmental heads
throughout the company. They should also foster positive relationships with
regulatory authorities, agencies, and service providers outside the company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee ongoing
development and maintenance of CMA’s Safety Program.
• Oversee the ongoing
maintenance and development of the company iSMS manual.
• Monitor safety
reports filed through the company’s non-punitive reporting system and assist
managers with response and data collection as appropriate.
• Assist with hazard
identification, risk assessments and suggest possible hazard mitigation where
appropriate.
• Analyses technical
data for trends related to hazards, events and occurrences.
Qualifications & Attributes:
• Experience in the
aviation industry
• Exposure to Safety
& QA
• Knowledge of
Transport Canada regulations and OSHA standards
• Ability to prepare
clear and concise written procedures, reports and documentation
• SMS Course or
equivalent qualification an asset
