WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Our passionate team of Airport Duty Managers ensure that our daily operations at the Calgary International Airport are safe and efficient 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your strong problem solving skills, collaborative attitude and exceptional customer service skills will contribute to your success as part of our Airport Duty Manager team. Your existing knowledge and experience in airport operations is a huge bonus, too.
Reporting to our General Manager, Terminal Operations, your key responsibilities will be to:
• Coordinate and assign day-to-day airport facilities including gates, counters, baggage carousels, make-up units and aircraft parking stands.
• Resolve conflicts with respect to competing demands for the use of airport facilities.
• Act as the senior Airport Authority representative on-site during non-business hours.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on projects related to our airport facilities to ensure minimal impact on airport operations; Ensure compliance with YYC, Federal, Provincial and Municpal standards; Attend various meetings to provide input to ensure the continuous operational integrity of the airport.
• Manage the Operations Centre consisting of a wide variety of technical and computer equipment.
• Coordinate the implementation of all airport emergency procedures in the event of emergencies.
• Conduct routine inspections of airside, groundside and the terminal facilities.
• Provide direction, information, advice and guidance to all airport stakeholders.
WHAT YOU BRING:
• Existing knowledge of all aspects of airport, aviation and transportation functions
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels within the airport environment
• Strong decision making skills with the ability to assess situations and recommend timely and appropriate courses of action
• Ability to work effectively as a team and independently with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic and changing environment
• A positive attitude and strong customer service orientation with the ability to positively interact with a wide variety of stakeholders
• Ability to handle stress and deal with crisis situations in a calm manner and be able to manage others in a stressful environment
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills, displaying ease in working with a variety of software applications, including the ability to maintain databases
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to obtain and maintain an Airfield Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP)
• Be available to work a 12-hour shift rotation, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
