Reporting to the Director Internal Communications, this position is responsible for managing the central themes and outward appearance of the GTAA—from brand and creative development, to campaigns and advertising creative. The Manager will lead other corporate marketing & communication initiatives that maintain Toronto Pearson as a world class brand. This position will help plan and manage resources, products and processes involved in the delivery of creative services. The incumbent will lead the evolution of the creative process considering the impact of technological advancements in the design industry.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities: 

Corporate Marketing: 
  • Manage the refresh and implementation of Toronto Pearson’s corporate brand
  • Chair of the Toronto Pearson Brand Standards council, which meets quarterly
  • Accountable for the development, evolution, implementation and successful execution of all creative corporate marketing activity including programs, campaigns, projects, brand architecture and guidelines, style guides and visual standards
  • Advice, guidance and assistance to all levels within the company on matters of brand identity
  • Partner with Human Resources to support, and execute the Employer Brand

Creative Services: 
  • Ensure on-brand delivery of creative services outputs, including publications, photography, videography, web content and other graphic design support
  • Partner and collaborate with other areas of the business to provide corporate marketing support, including the development of strategic campaigns to ensure the success of internal business initiatives
  • Work cross-functionally with our External Communications and Digital and Social Media teams to drive corporate message consistency, and support integrated creative marketing programs
  • Collaborate with and support our Internal Communications manager on a range of airport employee programs and communications
  • Guide the creative process and the efforts of the team to develop and deliver compelling design solutions to achieve each stakeholder’s strategic goals and functional needs
  • Provide design oversight for all Toronto Pearson branded creative, guiding the creative team throughout the lifespan of projects from design concept and implementation, through to future campaigns and the evolution of the brand
  • Motivate, challenge and foster creative brilliance within a team of talented designers
  • Developing creative guidelines and directing creative work, including print collateral, websites and digital, campaigns, and audio/visual design
  • Develop trust-based relationships with senior-level clients and establish him/herself as a credible source of expert advice and guidance
  • Procure and manage long-term contracts for the delivery of regularly needed services in relation to creative services (ie. printers, videography services, translation services)
  • Procure and manage short-term contracts for the delivery of regularly needed services in relation to creative services (ie. designers, photographers, editors)
  • Management and support of a centralized intake process to ensure equal allocation of resources and tracking of project hours
  • Manage the Corporate Marketing and creative services budget

Job Requirements
Qualifications: 
  • The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, or another related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Corporate Marketing, or Design
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a team of 3 or more
  • Advanced skills using Adobe CC suite (portfolio will be required)
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Significant knowledge and experience developing and executing digital and traditional marketing campaigns
  • Exceptional written, and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Creative and design production experience with software's such as Adobe Creative Suites
  • Strong business acumen, analytical abilities, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop new and effective relationships with internal and external partners
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of prioritizing and dealing with responsibilities and deadlines in an environment of multiple and conflicting demands for services and resourcing; concurrent and conflicting priorities
  • Detail oriented, a team player accustomed to fast‐paced, collaborative environments with tight deadlines
  • Effective communicator and persuasive presentation skills
  • Approachable and collaborative; excellent team and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Global, strategic design perspective, creative ability and talent, as demonstrated by a portfolio of successfully executed design projects
